Saveology.com Iceplex will host the 2nd Annual South Florida Hockeyfest & On Ice Demo Day on Sunday, May 6th from noon to 4 p.m.

The event is FREE and open to the public! Hockeyfest is the first event of it's kind in Florida, giving players, fans and parents an exclusive opportunity to test top of the line equipment near or before its release date.

Hockeyfest will feature exclusive demo opportunities from top end equipment manufacturers including Bauer, CCM, Reebok, Easton, Sher-Wood, Warrior, and more. In addition, fans and players can look forward to free raffles for elite product, giveaways, discounts and appearances from Florida Panthers personalities and Ice Dancers. 

 

Attention all Midget / High School age players: Do you want to play real pickup games?! Saveology.com Iceplex has a great new program for you to get out on the ice and get ready for the upcoming FSHL season. High School Open Hockey is a new program that allows Midget / HS age players (1993 to 1996 birth years) to play pickup hockey games and scrimmage with their peers with refs in a real game environment! The program will run October 13th through November 13th, 2011. 

High School Open Hockey is a great value at ONLY $15 per player (including tax - 30 max players per session) and $10 per goalie (including tax – 4 max goalies per session). To sign up, register in person at the front office. Players may register no more than FOUR hours prior to the start of the session and must register in person. Sorry, no Call-in registrations are allowed. Players should also be sure to bring both light and dark jerseys for scrimmaging. Are you a seasoned youth hockey player looking to refine your shooting and stickhandling skills? Or perhaps a recreational player looking to take your game to the next level? Well, you’re in luck! Beginning October 5th, Saveology.com Iceplex is introducing a NEW Youth Stickhandling Clinic that is sure to help your child become a natural scorer!

The Youth Stickhandling Clinic will be offered the first Wednesday of each month and is open to ALL youth players, both travel and recreational. Sessions for two age groups will be available: Ages 6 to 10 from 5:15pm to 5:45pm and Ages 11 to 14 from 5:45pm to 6:15pm. The first four scheduled dates of the clinic will be October 5th, November 2nd, December 7th, and January 4th, 2012. This is an incredible opportunity for your child to make huge strides in a critical area of any hockey player’s game – stickhandling – all in a safe, fun    atmosphere! 

Coach Gus Dumoulin, featured instructor for the Youth Stickhandling Clinic, brings years of experience as an instructor with the Florida Panthers, Saveology.com Iceplex, the internationally-renowned Turcotte Hockey School, and as owner of the Hockey Shooting Academy. He is an expert in stickhandling techniques and teaches all levels of hockey.
